Meraki Go Terms of Services
Welcome to Meraki Go! Our goal is to make your experience GREAT, including all the legal stuff. We aim to keep our legal terms simple, transparent, and to the point. So, let’s “Get Your Business Going”!
Please be sure to read the below terms carefully before you use the Software (as defined below) or your Meraki Go device (collectively, the “Products”). Once you click the “Accept” button or check a checkbox if such button or function is available or once you use the Products, you’re agreeing to these terms. These terms are important and limit your legal rights, including the right to bring a court case against us, so give ‘em a close read.
If you don’t agree to these terms, don’t use the Products or click “I accept”. Instead, return your Meraki Go device (in good, unused condition) within thirty (30) calendar days from the date of original purchase for a full refund.
Your purchase of the Products includes Software, such as the Meraki Gooperating system executable code, the Meraki hosted software known as the Dashboard, related APIs, mobile application, embedded software, third-party software, firmware, fonts, and other data, including any updates, whether ondisk, in read only memory, on any other media in any other form (we refer to all of those software elements collectively as, the “Software”).
1. Getting Started
- Your use of the Products will be governed by the terms and conditions set out in this agreement which are referred to below as the “Meraki Go Terms”. Please only use the Products if you agree to these Meraki Go Terms.
- There are a few ways you can accept these Meraki Go Terms. You can:
- click to accept when creating your Meraki Go account; or
- by actually using the Products.
- If you’re agreeing to these terms on behalf of or for the benefit of an entity, you represent and warrant that you have the legal authority to bind that entity to these terms of service. If you don’t have that type of authority, or you don’t agree to any of these Meraki Go Terms, no problem; just don’t use the Products.
- We require you to be at least eighteen (18) years old to purchase and use the Products. If you are not eighteen (18) years old, contact us to return the Products for a refund.
- “Cisco” means Cisco Systems, Inc., whose principal place of business is at 170 West Tasman Drive, San Jose, California 95134, United States.
- Cisco has subsidiaries and affiliated legal entities around the world (“Subsidiaries and Affiliates”). Sometimes, the Subsidiaries and Affiliates will be providing the Software to you on behalf of Cisco. If they do, you agree and accept the Software from Subsidiaries and Affiliates as if from Cisco itself.
2. Licenses and Restrictions
- Let’s Get Your Business Going! Cisco grants you a limited non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to download, install, access and use the Products.
- Let’s play nice. You are not permitted to copy, modify, create aderivative work of, reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble or otherwise attempt to extract the source code, algorithms or proprietary design elements of the Products. And, of course, don’t engage a third party to do that work on your behalf.
- Also, you are not permitted to:
- Interfere with the Software, or the servers and network swhich are connected to it, or with Cisco’s ability to provision the Products to any of its customers;
- transfer, sublicense, or assign your rights under this licenseto any other person or entity;
- make the functionality of the Software available to third parties; or
- remove, modify, or conceal any product identification, copyright, proprietary, intellectual property notices or other marks on or within the Products.
- Your rights to use the Products are non-transferable and may not be sublicensed. So, please don’t assign or grant a sub-license of your rights under these Meraki Go Terms, grant any security interest in or over your rights to use the Products, or in any otherway transfer any part or all of your rights to use the Products.
- You are solely responsible for your breach of these Meraki Go Terms, including all the stuff your Network Users (defined below) do, and all consequences of your actionsand the actions of your Network Users, including any lossor damage which Cisco may suffer.
- You’re also responsible for using the Products in accordance with applicable law (including any export control laws and similar regulations governing the transfer of software and other technology outside of the United States or other jurisdictions). Importantly, the Software may not be available to all persons or in all countries. To that end, you will ensure that the Products are not directly or indirectly exported, re-exported, or used toprovide services in violation of applicable export laws and regulations. If Cisco detects any Products operating in violation of such laws they will be removed from your account, following written notice to you (in the form of an email).
- The Software may include hyperlinks to other web sites, contentor resources. Cisco has no control over those web sites or resources or that content.
- Please use the Products only in accordance with the specifications (the “Specifications”) available on our website, and keep in mind that you (not Cisco) are solely responsible formaintaining administrative control over your Meraki Go account.
- Please note that your use of the Products includes access to the Cisco Umbrella cloud service, and your use of the Cisco Umbrella cloud service is subject to the terms of the Cisco Universal Cloud Agreement (available here: https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/about/legal/cloud-and-software/universal-cloud-agreement.html) and the Cisco Umbrella Offer Description (available here: https://www.cisco.com/c/dam/en_us/about/doing_business/legal/OfferDescriptions/cisco_umbrella_offer_description.pdf). By using the Products, you agree to these terms.
3. Software Modifications
- We’re constantly working to deliver the best products to our customers. The Software may change from time to time, without prior notice to you. There may also be times when Cisco has to temporarily suspend or end offering the Software or some specific feature or functionality. We make those decisions in our sole discretion, without prior notice to you.
- We also develop patches, bug fixes, updates, upgrades and other modifications to the Software, in addition to new software modules, enhanced functions and completely new versions of the Software (“Updates”). If you continue to use the Software, you consent to the automatic downloading and installation of these Updates, which may be automatically downloaded and installed onto the Products without prior notice.
- From time to time we may need your help to install Updates to certain features of the Software to ensure the Software functions as intended and to maintain the security of the platform. You acknowledge that you may be required to install Updates to continue use of, or access the full functionality of, the Software, and you agree to promptly install such Updates.
- We hope it never happens, but we do understand that there may come a time when you do not want to install an Update. If that happens, your sole remedy is to stop using the Products. If you restart using the Products, the automatic download of Updates may restart and by continuing to use the Products, you are consenting to such Updates.
- We know privacy is important to you, and it’s important to us too. We work hard to protect your privacy and personal information. You can find more information in Cisco’s Online Privacy Statement (“Privacy Statement”) (available here: http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/about/legal/privacy.html). It is important that you read and understand the terms of the Privacy Statement. Trust us, it’s a great read!
- By using your Products, you understand that you are collecting data regarding the devices that connect to your local area network, created in whole or in part by use of the Products and how your network is being used, including the types of data described below. By means of your Products, you are then transferring that data to Cisco for processing and storage, including data that may contain personally identifiable information of Network Users (collectively, “Customer Data”). That said, the Products include functionality that limits orrestricts the types of information collected, and you may certainly make use of that functionality. You retain all right, title and interest in and to your Customer Data. Cisco is permitted to use Customer Data only as reasonably required to provide the Products and, only to the extent necessary, to protect our rights in any dispute with you and as required by law. It is your responsibility to provide notice to, and obtain any necessary consents from, your Network Users regarding collection, processing, disclosure, and storage of Customer Data. It is also your responsibility to respond to—and, where legally required, to effectuate—any Network User requests related to any legal rights to control or access personal information pertaining to the Network User. For purposes of this section, a “Network User” is anyone who obtains access to your Meraki Go local area network.
5. Cisco’s Rights
- As between you and Cisco, Cisco owns and reserves all intellectual property rights with respect to the Products. In addition, you hereby assign to Cisco all of your interest in any feedback you convey to us related to the Products. Cisco may incorporate modifications into the Products and the Documentation at any time. For purposes of this section, “Documentation” means any user instructions, manuals, specifications, or other documentation provided by Cisco that relate to the Products.
- Unfortunately, you are not permitted to use any of Cisco’s tradenames, trademarks, service marks, logos, domain names, or other distinctive brand features.
- The Software may contain open source software, subject to separate license terms made available with the Software or Documentation.
We include certain third party open source programs in our Software (referred to collectively as the “Open-Source Software”). Separate open-source license agreements govern your use of the
- Open-Source Software. You should read and understand your rights under those separate open-source license agreements, which are not modified by these Meraki Go Terms.
- The limited warranty and Product End-of-Life Policy that accompanies your Products is available at meraki-go.com/warranty. This section does not affect in any way ourreturn policy for your Meraki Go device(s) available at meraki-go.com/warranty.
- EXCEPT AS EXPRESSLY SET FORTH ABOVE, CISCO MAKES NO WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, STATUTORY OR OTHERWISE, WITH RESPECT TO THE PRODUCT. CISCO HEREBY SPECIFICALLY DISCLAIMS ALL OTHER EXPRESS, STATUTORY AND IMPLIED WARRANTIES AND CONDITIONS, INCLUDING THE IMPLIED WARANTIES OF MERCHANT ABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, TITLE AND THE IMPLIED CONDITION OF SATISFACTORY QUALITY. THE PRODUCT IS SUPPLIED ON AN “AS IS” BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTY. YOU ASSUME ALL RESPONSIBILITIES FOR SELECTION OF THE PRODUCT TO ACHIEVE YOUR INTENDED RESULTS, AND FOR THE INSTALLATION AND USE OF THE PRODUCT. CISCO ASSUMES NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY DAMAGES TO YOUR PRODUCTS OR OTHER MATERIALS. SOME JURISDICTIONS LIMIT OR DO NOT ALLOW A LIMITATION ON IMPLIED AND OTHER WARRANTIES, SO THE FOREGOING DISCLAIMER MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
8. Changes to these Meraki Go Terms
- Cisco may at its discretion make changes (i.e., modify, update, add to, discontinue, remove, or otherwise change) to these Meraki Go Terms at any time. Cisco will provide you with notices about any material change by sending an email to the email address on the account. The most current version of these Meraki Go Terms will be available at meraki-go.com/terms and supersedes all previous versions.
- Your continued use of the Products after the date on which these Meraki Go Terms have changed and, in the case of material changes, constitutes acceptance of the updated Meraki Go Terms. If you do not agree to any of the changes, your sole remedy is to discontinue use of the Products.
- These Meraki Go Terms will continue to apply until the termination of these Meraki Go Terms under Section 9(B) below.
- Cisco may at any time terminate these Meraki Go Terms upon notice if:
- you have breached any provision of these Meraki Go Terms;
- Cisco is required to do so by law;
- Cisco is transitioning to no longer providing the Products to certain countries where you use or access the Software; or
- in Cisco’s sole opinion, the provision of the Products to you by Cisco is no longer commercially viable.
- Upon termination of these Meraki Go Terms, you will no longer use the Products.
10. Government End Users
- The Products are a “commercial item” as defined at Federal Acquisition Regulation (“FAR”) (48 C.F.R.) 2.101, consisting of “commercial computer software” and “commercial computer software documentation” as such terms are used in FAR 12.212. Consistent with FAR 12.211 (Technical Data) and FAR 12.212 (Computer Software) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (“DFAR”) 227.7202-1 through 227.7202-4, and notwithstanding any other FAR or other contractual clause to the contrary in any agreement into which these Meraki Go Terms may be incorporated, Government end users will acquire the Products with only those rights set forth in these Meraki Go Terms. Any license provisions that are inconsistent with federal procurement regulations are not enforceable against the U.S.Government.
- Let’s have fun with Meraki Go. So, make sure you use it for non-time-critical information. Definitely do not use the Products inapplications or environments requiring fail-safe performance. There may be some limitations with using the Products, so you accept that Cisco is not responsible for any damages allegedly caused by the failure or delay of access to the Software.
- You will defend, indemnify and hold harmless Cisco and its Subsidiaries and Affiliates and their licensors, officers, directors, employees, consultants and agents (collectively, the “CiscoEntities”) from and against all claims, proceedings, injuries, liabilities, losses, costs and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) relating to any claims brought by a third party to the extent based upon: (i) your or your Network Users’ use of the Products; (ii) your breach of these Meraki Go Terms; (iii) your or your Network Users’ breach of any third-party right, including without limitation any intellectual property right, publicity, confidentiality, property or privacy right; or (iv) any dispute or issue between you and a third party, including any Network User (in each case, a “Claim”). Cisco may, at its own expense, assume the full and exclusive control of the defense and settlement of any Claim and any subsequent appeal, and in suchcase, you agree to promptly notify Cisco in writing of the Claim and cooperate with Cisco’s defense of such Claim.
12. Limitation of Liability
- Subject to Section 12(C) below, you agree that Cisco is only responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of (i) Cisco’s material breach of these Meraki Go Terms; or (ii) Cisco’s negligence.
- In no event will Cisco be liable for (i) indirect, incidental, exemplary, special or consequential damages; (ii) loss orcorruption of data or interrupted or loss of business; or (iii) loss ofrevenues, profits, goodwill or anticipated sales or savings. This limitation of liability applies whether the claims are in warranty, contract, tort, infringement, or otherwise, even if you have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Nothing in this Section 12 limits or excludes any liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law. This limitation of liability is cumulative and not per incident.
- Cisco’s maximum aggregate liability to you under or inconnection with these Meraki Go Terms and the Products shall not exceed, in the aggregate, USD $50.
- The terms of this Section 12 apply to the liability of Cisco, its Subsidiaries and Affiliates and its licensors.
13. DISPUTE RESOLUTION BY BINDING ARBITRATION; CLASS ACTION WAIVER
- Under the terms of this Section 13 (the “Arbitration Agreement”), and subject to Section 13(E) below, we agree that any conflict, dispute, controversy, or claim arising out of or relating to the Products, these Meraki Go Terms, or the relationship created by these Meraki Go terms, including questions of arbitrability, whether in tort, statutory or constitutional right, or contract (together or individually a “Dispute”) shall be finally resolved by binding arbitration in accordance with the process in this Section 13. Arbitration is a method of claim resolution that is less formal than a traditional court proceeding. It uses a neutral arbitrator instead of a judge or jury and is subject to limited review by courts.
- ANY DISPUTE SHALL BE REFERRED TO AND FINALLY RESOLVED BY BINDING ARBITRATION. IF YOU ARE LOCATED IN THE UNITED STATES, SUCH ARBITRATION SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE JAMS ARBITRATION RULES THEN IN EFFECT, WHICH ARE HEREBY INCORPORATED BY REFERENCE INTO THIS CLAUSE. IF YOU ARE LOCATED OUTSIDE THE UNITED STATES, SUCH ARBITRATION SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE LCIA ARBITRATION RULES THEN IN EFFECT, WHICH ARE HEREBY INCORPORATED BY REFERENCE INTO THIS CLAUSE.
- The arbitration tribunal shall consist of a sole arbitrator, selected in accordance with the Judicial Arbitration and Mediation Services, Inc. (“JAMS”) arbitration rules if you are located in the United States, or in accordance with the London Court of International Arbitration (“LCIA”) arbitration rules if you are located outside the United States. The arbitrator shall set a limited time period and establish procedures designed to reduce the cost and time for discovery while allowing the parties an adequate opportunity to discover relevant information regarding the subject matter of the Dispute.
- Notwithstanding anything to the contrary, the arbitrator shall exceed his or her powers if the arbitrator awards damages inconsistent with the limitation of liability provisions set forth above in Section 12. Both you and Cisco irrevocably waive the award of any such damages.
- The language to be used in the arbitration is English.
- You can only pursue claims and seek relief against Cisco on an individual basis, not as a plaintiff or class member in any class or representative action or proceeding. Claims of more than one customer or user cannot be arbitrated or consolidated with those of any other customer or user.
- You waive your rights to seek relief in a court of law, to have ajury trial on your claims, and to appear in any dispute resolution forum as a representative or member of any class of individuals.
- You have the right to opt out of the arbitration provisions set forth in these Meraki Go Terms by sending written notice of your decision to opt out to the following address: Cisco Systems, Inc., 500 Terry A. Francois Boulevard, San Francisco, CA 94158, United States, Attention: Legal. Your notice must include your name and address, the company name you identified during account creation (if you provided one), the email address on the account, and an unequivocal statement that you want to opt out of the arbitration provisions set forth in these Meraki Go Terms. If you opt out of the arbitration provisions set forth in these Meraki Go Terms, all other parts of these Meraki Go Terms will continue to apply to you.
- At any point after a Dispute has arisen, in the event interim or provisional relief is necessary to protect the rights or property of a party under Sections 2(B), 2(C), 2(D), and 5(B) of this Meraki Go Terms or otherwise prior to the resolution of the Dispute, either party, without waiving any process or remedy under these Meraki Go Terms, could seek such relief from any court of competent jurisdiction.
- If any provision of this arbitration agreement is found unenforceable, the unenforceable provision will be severed and the remaining arbitration terms will be enforced.
14. General Matters
- These Meraki Go Terms are the entire agreement between you and Cisco regarding your use of the Products and supersedes all prior agreements and understandings about your use of the Products not specifically incorporated herein.
- Cisco may send you notices, including notices about changes to these Meraki Go Terms, by email or via postings on our website.
- Sections 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 10, 11, 12, and 13 will survive the termination or expiration of these Meraki Go Terms.
- Failure to exercise any right under these Meraki Go Terms will not constitute a waiver.
- If any provision of these Meraki Go Terms is found unenforceable, the unenforceable provision will be severed and the remaining Meraki Go Terms will be construed as if the unenforceable term had not been included.
- The Subsidiaries and Affiliates are third party beneficiaries of these Meraki Go Terms.
- These Meraki Go Terms are governed by the laws of the state of California and without reference to conflicts of law principles. For any dispute relating to these Meraki Go Terms not subject to binding arbitration, the parties consent to personal jurisdictionand the exclusive venue of the courts in Santa Clara County, California.
- You may not assign these Meraki Go Terms without prior written consent of Cisco, whether expressly or by operation of law, including in connection with a merger or change of control. Cisco may assign these Meraki Go Terms without restriction.
- You acknowledge and understand that if Cisco is unable to provide the Software as a result of a force majeure event, Cisco will not be in breach of these Meraki Go Terms.
- The parties agree that the English version of the Meraki Go Terms will govern in the event of a conflict between it and any version translated into another language.
Returns and Warranties
If your Meraki Go product has failed, you can contact your Meraki Go reseller for a warranty replacement within 12 months from your date of purchase. We offer a 30 day return policy for refunds within 30 days of your date of purchase.
Warranty Hardware Returns
If you are experiencing hardware issues and would like help troubleshooting, please read the Meraki Go Troubleshooting Guide, or contact Meraki Go support by logging in to the portal or the mobile app. To request a return material authorization (RMA), please contact your reseller to file an RMA request form within 12 months of your date of purchase.
Warranty Coverage Period
EU and UK
Hardware products come with a 24 Month warranty, with the exception of outdoor products. Subscriptions come with a 30 day warranty. Warranty is non-transferrable and is valid for the original purchaser only. All warranties are from date of purchase. Some general warranty term lengths can be found below:

Rest of World (Excluding the EU and UK)
Hardware products come with a 12 month warranty, and subscriptions come with a 30 day warranty. Warranty is non-transferrable and is valid for the original purchaser only. All warranties are from date of purchase. Some general warranty term lengths can be found below:

Note: The above table is a general guideline for warranty terms and is not final. Warranty terms are subject to printed warranty information on the relevant data sheets for the Indoor Access Point, Outdoor Access Point, Network Switches and Security Gateway.
If you are dissatisfied with your Meraki Go purchase for any reason, you may return your order for a full refund. All returns must meet the following criteria:
- You purchased the product through an authorized Meraki Go reseller
- You are the original purchaser of the product
- You submit your refund request within 30 days of purchase
- The product is in new condition, including all accessories in the original packaging
To request a refund, please contact your Meraki Go reseller. Your reseller may charge a restocking fee.
Subscription Renewals and Returns
If the subscription for one of your Meraki Go devices is not renewed by its expiration, the subscription for the device will enter a 30 day grace period. The device will continue functioning for those 30 days, but if a new subscription is not applied within this grace period, the device will cease to operate until a new subscription for it has been applied.
Subscriptions can be returned by contacting your reseller.
Product End-of-Life (EOL) Policy
Meraki Go may find it necessary to discontinue products for a number of reasons, including product line enhancements, market demands, technology innovation, or the products simply mature over time and are replaced by functionally richer products. We have set our end-of-life (EOL) policy to help customers better manage their product end-of-life transition.
When a product reaches EOL, Meraki is committed to communicating important milestones throughout the EOL period. These notifications will include the initial EOL notification, the End of Sale (EOS) announcement, and the End of Support (EOST) dates, as well as other key information pertaining to Meraki Go products.
Any products being discontinued will be announced as End of Sale and identified on the Meraki Go website up to six months prior to the discontinuation and EOS date (also known as the last order date). On the end of sale date, discontinued hardware products and related device-specific licenses are removed from the price list and are no longer available for purchase. Meraki Go typically provides support for a given product for a period of 2 years after the EOS date. If the discontinued product is not available for replacement or repair of an in-warranty return, Meraki may, in its sole discretion, replace the discontinued product with functionally equivalent hardware and transfer the remaining license term from the replaced product to the replacement hardware.
Although Meraki Go products typically can connect to our cloud-based management software for the entire useful life of the product, following the EOST Date, some things may change, including the following:
- Meraki cannot guarantee that hardware products will be able to connect to the management software indefinitely following the EOST Date;
- Meraki Go Support may no longer troubleshoot the hardware products;
- Meraki may no longer issue firmware updates or patches for the products; and
- New software features available for the management software may not be compatible with the hardware functionality or with the firmware running on the hardware.
If either of the first two situations above occurs, then we will use our best efforts to provide the customer with a workable solution for upgrading from the EOL hardware and, failing that, will credit the value of any remaining license time attributable to the hardware to the customer’s organization on a prorated basis.

End-of-Sale Announcement: Date of official end-of-sales notice, typically six months prior to the last order date.
End-of-Sale (EOS) Date: The last date to order the product through Cisco Meraki point-of-sale outlets. After this date, the product is no longer for sale via any channel.
End-of-Support (EOST) Date: The last date a product will be affirmatively supported by Cisco Meraki 2 years following the EOS Date.
